Dj Zel has always had a profound love for music, this love began when she was a young dancer performing and watching videos on VH1 and MTV. She fell in love with all types of genres but was specifically drawn to the B96 mixmasters and was heavily influenced in the hip hop and the r&b genre.

In 2010 she began looking for an outlet to express herself artistically since she had stopped dancing after college. Leo a close friend offered her a new outlet and taught her the fundamentals of djing. What started as an outlet and a hobby quickly became her main focus and passion. Not only was it an adrenaline rush to be able to creatively try new things with different types of music but seeing how people reacted to the music is what drove her to continue on to learn more about the art.

Zel is an open format dj who has a strong grasp on all genres but is well known for her throwback sets and high energy. In 2019 she made her debut as an Official Chicago Whitesox DJ. In 2023 she became the Official DJ for the Chicago Blackhawks and Concourse/Atrium DJ for the Chicago Bulls. Zel continues to make her mark thru the Chicago scene and large scale festivals such as Pride Fest, My House Music Fest and Michelada Fest.
